History

The building was formerly the village poor-house, and subsequently became the village school, which closed in 1970. The hall was refurbished and redecorated throughout in 2019, thanks to donations and other contributions from villagers, and grants received from the National Lottery Community Fund and the St John's Foundation.

Events

Each year the Village Hall Committee organises a May Day Fair, which is the principal fund-raising event for the maintenance and upkeep of the hall. A Village Social takes place in Jan/Feb each year.

During the week the Hall is in use by Tai Chi, Circuit TrainingSaturday Café and Yoga

The Hall is also in frequent use for Parish Council meetings, birthday parties, wedding receptions and other celebrations, the occasional cricket club pantomime, quizzes, art exhibitions and other assorted events.
