Priston
Rector, Chris Hare, and his wife Miriam undertook between 24th - 29th
May a sponsored walk along the length of Hadrian's
Wall from Wallsend near
Newcastle to Bowness-on-Solway, a
distance of
85 miles. We did the
equivalent of 3
marathons in under a week! We walked in aid of Timsbury
and Priston churches,
and for the Dorothy
House Hospice where Miriam
works, |

| Fri 28 May 2010 21:34 | Carlisle | 5 | 71 | Great walking day today. Sharp wind but sunny and bright. Path followed River Eden into Carlisle. Now at friends' house nearby. Only one day and 14 miles to go! |
| Thu 27 May 2010 20:42 | Walton | 4 | 58 | Day dawned bright with blue skies. Good walking. Up crags and then down like big dipper. PM, got soaked to skin 3 times. Hail and rain but did it! |

Once Brewed | 3 | 43 | Strenuous walking today, and very tired but now half way! Staying at place called Once Brewed - rather like we feel! Wall goes over many crags with great views. Met two people doing same walk as us, but are doing it in bare feet to raise money. Made us feel very humble. |

Chollerford | 2 | 30 | Achieved our 15 miles today. First real remains of The Wall - how did they make it? Cries of curlews went with us as we crossed Heavenfield, the site where King Oswald fought and won. He later became a saint! And on to tomorrow and wilder parts.. |

Heddon on Wall. | 1 | 15 | Began 9am at Segendum Fort at Wallsend. Along River Tyne, under lots of bridges, Millennium included. Then final hard climb up to Heddon on Wall. Tired legs but happy hearts. Day 1 Done! |
