RESPONSE
TO PAN (MOVE THE MAP)
Either:
  1. Click on one of the four arrows in the control at the top left hand part of the map to move up/down/left/right.
  2. Click anywhere on the map, hold the click down, and "drag" the map in the desired direction.
TO ZOOM IN OR OUT
Either:
  1. Click on the "+" or "-" controls at either end of the ruler which you can see towards the top left hand corner of the map.
  2. Click on the "slider" which is on the ruler , and holding the click down, drag the slider upwards to zoom in, downwards to zoom out.
NOTE:  The level of detail available varies considerably depending on which part of the world you are examining.  If you try to zoom in too far you will get messages displayed which identify that imagery/map information at the requested level of detail is not available.  In this case just zoom out again until the messages disappear, or change the view from Map to Satellite or vice versa.
TO SEE  INFORMATION ABOUT A MARKER
Click on the marker, and an "Info" box will be displayed.  To get rid of the Info box just click on the "X" in the top right hand corner of the Info box.
TO CHANGE BETWEEN SATELLITE PHOTO AND MAP VIEWS
Click on the "Map" or "Satellite" buttons at the top of  the map.  To get a combined view click on the "Hybrid"  button.
THE MAP LOADS TOO SLOWLY
Broadband is recommended, particularly if you are panning/zooming.
THE MAP IS NOT DISPLAYED AT ALL
Possible reasons include:
  1. You may get a message displayed saying Internet Explorer has restricted the display of active content.  If so click on the bar and select the option to "Allow Blocked Content".
  2. You may not have enabled Javascript.  If so you may need to alter your browser options.
  3. Your browser may not be compatible.  Compatible browsers include:
    • Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher
    • Firefox 0.8+
    • Safari 1.2.4+
    • Netscape 7.1+
    • Mozilla 1.4+
    • Opera 7+
TECHNOLOGY
The map is based on Google Maps and has been implemented using the Google Maps EZ interface.
